About CardVault
CardVault is a loyalty and membership card organizer provided by Bartłomiej Bocian. It is free to use, with no accounts, advertisements, subscriptions, or in-app purchases.
The app is designed for iPhone and iPad running iOS 17 or iPadOS 17 or later. It stores barcode-based loyalty cards, memberships, vouchers, and coupons locally on your device.
Using your cards
Only save or use cards that belong to you or that you have permission to use. Follow the card issuer’s rules for membership, rewards, vouchers, and coupons. Saving a card in CardVault does not create a membership, add credit, or change its validity or the issuer’s conditions.
Check the saved card number, barcode format, and expiration date against the original card. Card details and dates are entered or reviewed by you; CardVault does not check their status with the issuer.
Retailer and barcode acceptance
CardVault can display QR, Code 128, Code 39, EAN-13, EAN-8, UPC-E, PDF417, and Interleaved 2 of 5 barcodes. Whether a displayed barcode is accepted depends on the retailer, issuer, and scanning equipment.
Some issuers or retailers may require the original card or another form of identification. Keep the original when you may need it, and check the issuer’s requirements.
Your data and backups
Your wallet is stored on your device. CardVault has no developer-operated account, cloud backup, or synchronization service. The developer cannot remotely access or restore your wallet.
You can export your cards and custom tags from Settings and import a CardVault export on another device. Exported JSON files contain card numbers and other saved information and are not encrypted. Keep them private. Deleting cards or removing the app does not delete exported or shared copies.
Removing the app can remove your local wallet. Device backups depend on your system settings and backup provider. See Your data & permissions for practical steps and the Privacy Policy for information about data handling.
Expiration reminders
Expiration reminders are optional local notifications based on the dates you save. Notification permission is required. CardVault schedules future reminders at 9:00 AM on your selected lead day and on the expiration morning.
The app queues the next 64 reminders. Open it regularly to refresh upcoming reminders, and after changing time zones to update notification times. Focus, Scheduled Summary, and your notification settings can delay or hide alerts. Check important expiration dates yourself.
For setup and troubleshooting, see Expiration reminders.
App license
For App Store downloads, Apple’s Standard End User License Agreement applies unless a custom license is supplied with the app.
This page provides practical app information. Your rights under applicable law remain unchanged.
