You’re in control.

Your data & permissions

Save a copy, move your cards, or clear your wallet. Here’s how to manage the information stored on your device.

Where your data lives

Your cards, numbers, notes, tags, favorites, and preferences are stored locally on your device. CardVault has no user account, developer-operated cloud backup, or cloud synchronization.

There is no online account to close. The developer cannot view, recover, or erase your wallet remotely. Device backups may include app data according to your system settings; manage those backups through your device settings and backup provider.

Save a private copy

  1. Open CardVault and go to Settings.
  2. Tap Export Cards.
  3. Choose a private location in the system file interface and save the JSON file.

The export contains every saved card and any assigned custom tags, including card numbers, barcode values, names, descriptions, notes, favorites, colors, icons, and dates. App preferences are not included.

Exported files are not encrypted. Anyone who receives the file can read its contents. Save and share it only with people or services you trust, and do not attach it to a support message.

Move your cards to another device

  1. Export your cards on the original device.
  2. Transfer the JSON file privately to the other device using a method you trust.
  3. On the receiving device, open CardVault → Settings → Import Cards.
  4. Choose the exported file and review the count of new and already saved cards.
  5. Confirm Import, then check that the cards you need are present before removing anything from the original device.

Import retains existing cards. Cards whose identifiers are already saved are skipped; separately created cards can still have matching numbers and different identifiers. The file is validated on your device before changes are made. If import fails, your wallet stays unchanged.

If you choose a cloud storage provider or share your file with another app or person, that provider or recipient receives the contents under its own practices. CardVault does not send the file to the developer.

For supported file sizes and import troubleshooting, see Importing cards.

Delete cards from your wallet

To remove one card, open its details and use the delete action. To clear every card, open Settings and use the clear-all-cards action, then confirm. Clearing cards does not clear saved tags or app preferences.

Deleting a card also cancels its scheduled expiration reminders. Deleting cards on one device does not change cards on another device or remove previously exported files.

Removing the app can remove its local wallet. Export any cards you want to keep before removing it. If the wallet will not open, follow the recovery guidance before deleting or reinstalling the app.

Delete exported copies and backups

Find any JSON files you saved in Files or your chosen storage provider and delete the copies you no longer need. If you shared a file with another person or service, manage that copy with the recipient or provider.

Removing a card or uninstalling CardVault does not delete exported files. Device backups are separate too: their retention and deletion are controlled by your device settings and backup provider.

Manage camera and notification permissions

Camera

Open your device’s Settings, find CardVault, and change Camera access. You can keep using manual card entry with camera access turned off. Scanning processes camera frames temporarily on your device; CardVault does not save or send them to the developer.

Notifications

Turn Expiration Reminders off in CardVault’s Settings to cancel scheduled reminders. To change system permission, use Open Notification Settings in CardVault or find CardVault in your device’s notification settings.

Notification previews can show a card’s name and expiration date on the lock screen and in Notification Center. They do not include barcode values, card numbers, or notes. Change notification previews in your device’s Settings if you want to control what is visible.

Request deletion of support correspondence

Email support@simplycard.pl to request deletion of messages you sent to support. Applicable retention obligations may affect deletion. Do not include card numbers, barcodes, personal notes, or wallet exports in your request.
